The Tower of Hope celebrated this Veterans Day with our first ever Walk for Wounded Veterans with the incredible help and sponsorship of Shoprite Supermarkets
Date: Sunday, November 14, 2010
Location: Tibbets Brook Park, Yonkers, NY
The weather was perfect for a walk around beautiful Tibbets Brook Park to help raise funds for badly needed service dogs for severely wounded veterans. There were several Veteran/Dog teams present, including Bill White and his Service Dog Rudy, sponsored by the Tower of Hope. County Executive Astorino and Yonkers Mayor Amicone were on hand to kick off the walk, and spoke briefly about the important work the Tower of Hope is accomplishing. There were many people who brought their own dogs on this historic first annual Walk for Wounded Veterans.
